Our Mission
To impact our community and the world by loving God, sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, and equipping Christ-followers to love God and serve one another.
Our Values
A Real Love for Christ Jesus
Our first and most important value is about our real love for Jesus Christ. As a Christian, our lives should seek to have a deep and personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It is because of His perfect life, His death on the cross of Calvary, His rising from the grave for His people, and His ascension into heaven that we have the opportunity to be reconciled back to God. As a result, one of our responses to this great work is to love Him with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength (Matthew 22:37 – with Link).”
A Genuine Care for Others
God loved us so much that He gave His Son for us, and now, through the sacrifice of Christ and the gift of the Holy Spirit, the love of God has been poured into our hearts. One of the evidences of His great love in us is our love for others. At Bruner’s Chapel, we view people not as nuisances or interruptions, but as valuable creations of God who are to be loved and cared for. It is our responsibility to love and care for others because God himself loves and cares for them. (1 John 3:11 – with Link).
A Multi-Generational Pursuit of Christ-likeness
One of God’s instructions to His people is to grow in godliness through discipleship. This cannot be done in isolation. Rather, this demands that we do this through a church family. One of the joys of our church is the presence of people from all walks of life. From babies to great-grandparents, we as a church have made a commitment to grow in godliness regardless of our stage of life (Deuteronomy 6:6-9 – with Link).
A Great Burden for the Nations
The Great Commission demands that we are faithful in preaching and sharing the gospel in not only Harrodsburg, but also to the nations. It is our desire to see, not just our community, but the entire world come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and we want to be part of the effort in bringing them to know Him (Psalm 67:4 – with Link).
A Total Commitment to Scripture
The Bible is the authoritative Word of the Living God. In it God speaks to His people and not only tells them who He is, but also who they are and His demands of them. Because we recognize the Bible as the actual Word of God, we submit that it has direct authority over us. Further, we are totally committed to this Word (2 Peter 1:20-21 – with Link).
An Authentic Joy in Worship
Worship is the activity of lifting praise to God in not only a specific time and place, but also a means by which we dedicate our lives and actions to Jesus Christ. At Bruner’s Chapel, we take both forms of worship very seriously, and we do this with hearts of joy (Psalm 100:1-2 – with Link).
A Passion for Our Community
In Scripture, God can be seen to do His work in various communities. We believe that God has placed us in our community for a reason, and that he intends to do a great work in this community. As a result, our call to serve Christ Jesus in our community is what fuels our love for our community. As a church, we want to love our community, serve it, and make investments in the kingdom of God (Acts 14:21 – with Link).
