Schylar considers his commission to serve the congregation and local community as lead pastor of Bruner’s Chapel Baptist Church a privilege. Prior to answering God’s call at the age of 19, he grew up in a loving home with a God-fearing family in southern Ohio where his father continues to serve as a Baptist minister. Previously, Pastor Schylar served the church in many other roles including Sunday school teacher, audio-visual technician, youth pastor and associate pastor. Schylar is married to the love of his life and ministry partner, Kara, a medical school student at the University of Kentucky. In their free time, they enjoy watching comedies, going on short walks, and play time with Annie, their golden-doodle. Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Sciences from Shawnee State University, a Masters of Divinity, and a Masters of Theology from Liberty University, he continues refining his commission by currently being enrolled in a double-major doctorate program of evangelism and preaching at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
